Manchester, England — Manchester City stars Lauren Hemp and Khadija “Bunny” Shaw have been nominated for the PFA Barclays Women’s Super League Fans’ Player of the Month award for September.
The City duo have been recognised after playing key roles in the club’s perfect start to the 2026/27 WSL campaign, with Manchester City winning all five of their matches during the opening month of the season.
Shaw continues her goalscoring form
Bunny Shaw was particularly influential in front of goal during September, scoring three goals in four WSL appearances.
The Jamaica international also registered an assist as City maintained their 100 per cent record at the start of the campaign.
Shaw entered the new season after another outstanding individual campaign in which she claimed the WSL Golden Boot for a record third consecutive season, underlining her importance to City's attack.

Hemp reaches another milestone
For Lauren Hemp, September was also a landmark month.
The England international made her 200th appearance for Manchester City during the club's opening league victory over Birmingham City.
Hemp subsequently provided an assist in City's 4-1 victory over Aston Villa, while her effort also contributed to the fourth goal after it was deflected into the net by an opponent.
Her performances also saw her reach 100 WSL goal involvements, becoming only the seventh player in the history of the competition to achieve that milestone.

Hemp and Shaw are among six players shortlisted for the September PFA WSL Fans’ Player of the Month award.

Manchester City's September campaign included victories over Birmingham City, Aston Villa, Liverpool and Charlton Athletic, with the team scoring freely while maintaining a perfect record.
The strong start has also put Hemp and Shaw among the early individual standouts in the WSL, with both City forwards now competing for the first PFA Fans’ Player of the Month award of the new campaign.
