GABORONE, Botswana — Botswana national team captain Thatayaone Ditlhokwe has been reported to have signed a one-year deal with Jordanian club Al-Wehdat SC.
According to reports circulating on social media, the defender has agreed terms with the Amman-based side and will begin a new chapter in the Jordanian Pro League. Official confirmation from Al-Wehdat or the player’s representatives remains limited at this stage.
Career Background
Ditlhokwe, a left-footed centre-back and left-back, has built a solid career across Southern and North Africa. He previously featured for Gaborone United and Township Rollers in Botswana before moving to South Africa, where he played for SuperSport United and later Kaizer Chiefs.
In February 2025, he completed a move from Kaizer Chiefs to Libyan giants Al-Ittihad. He has since spent time in the Libyan Premier League, including a spell with Al-Shomooa.
The reported switch to Al-Wehdat would mark his first experience in Jordanian football.
National Team Role
As captain of the Botswana national team, popularly known as the Zebras, Ditlhokwe has been a consistent presence in defence for several years. His leadership and experience have made him a key figure for the national side in both qualifying campaigns and regional competitions.
Awaiting Official Confirmation
While the report of a one-year agreement with Al-Wehdat has gained traction, particularly through African football channels on social media, neither the Jordanian club nor Ditlhokwe has issued an official statement at the time of writing.
Further updates are expected once the move is formally confirmed by the relevant parties. If completed, the transfer would add another African international to Al-Wehdat’s squad as they compete in the Jordanian Pro League.
