James Okwuosa to join another PSL Team

Following his disappointing first six months at Orlando Pirates, after joining the club during the second half of last season, James Okwuosa is likely to consider his future for next season. The indication from soccerladuma.co.za that the Nigerian defender could be taken back by the club, should he be available for a move back to Port Elizabeth. The centre back excelled with the Chilli Boys during his five seasons with the club.

The towering player had made more than 90 appearances for Chippa, before his move to Pirates in January, but the player struggled for game time at Bucs. It is understood that the 26-year-old could be affected by squad changes set to take place at the Soweto giants at the end of their season, after the Nedbank Cup final is concluded on June 24.

Okwuosa’s only appearance in an official game for Bucs was during the team’s 6-0 loss against Mamelodi Sundowns in February. “James Okwuosa is a good player. It’s just that he was unlucky that in his first game for Pirates the team lost to Sundowns by a big score and he never really got another chance to play again,” a source told the Siya crew.
James was part of the Super Eagles squad that played a friendly match against South Africa in 2015,a match that finished 1-1.
