Fury and Joshua are scheduled to meet on 11 December at the 80,000-capacity Principality Stadium, in what will be one of the biggest boxing events in Britain in recent years.
Fury wants Trump by his side
Fury revealed that he would offer Trump the opportunity to accompany him to the ring before the bout, although he acknowledged that the US president's schedule could make his attendance unlikely.
“I’ll definitely make that offer to my old buddy, old pal, and we’ll see if he’s available,” Fury said, according to British media reports.
“Probably unlikely because of the situation he’s in at the moment, being the president of the United States.”
Fury and Trump have met previously. The boxer attended the UFC Freedom 250 event at the White House in June, where he was photographed wearing a cap bearing the message “Donald Trump for Prime Minister”.
Fury sees Joshua fight as route back to Usyk
Despite the significance of the Joshua fight, Fury insists his ultimate objective remains a third meeting with Oleksandr Usyk.
The 38-year-old Briton has lost both of his previous fights against the Ukrainian, who defeated him twice in their undisputed heavyweight championship bouts.
Fury said he has no intention of retiring after facing Joshua and described the December contest as preparation for another potential fight with Usyk.
“I don’t have any intention of retiring after Joshua. I’m using this as a warm-up for Usyk,” Fury said.
He added that he wants to face Usyk again in New York if he defeats Joshua.
Fury confident ahead of long-awaited showdown
Fury also expressed confidence in his current condition as he prepares for his third fight of the year.
He said he has completed 12 rounds with Arslanbek Makhmudov and seven rounds with Mariusz Wach during his preparations.
“I’m firing on all cylinders at the moment. I feel fantastic. I’m 38 years young,” Fury said.
The former champion's comments come after Fury and Joshua held their first face-to-face promotional event in London on 30 September.
Despite years of rivalry and verbal exchanges, the pair maintained a largely respectful tone during the event, with both acknowledging the importance of finally staging the fight in Britain.
Joshua fight set for December 11
Fury and Joshua will finally meet on 11 December at Principality Stadium in Cardiff after years of speculation surrounding a potential bout.
The fight pits two former heavyweight world champions against each other, with Joshua, 36, looking to add another major victory to his career while Fury aims to continue his comeback and set up another shot at Usyk.
For Fury, however, the build-up already has another possible headline attraction: having the US president walk alongside him to the ring before the biggest British heavyweight fight in years.
