The Stormers travel to Scotland for their Round 2 fixture at Hive Stadium, with kick-off scheduled for 7:45pm local time on 2 October.
Kolisi’s inclusion marks an important step in his return to the Stormers, having rejoined the Cape-based side after his spell with the Sharks. The loose forward began his professional career with Western Province and made his Stormers debut in 2012.
Ahmed handed first URC start
Young fly-half Yaqeen Ahmed is also set to make his first United Rugby Championship start for the Stormers after Jurie Matthee suffered an ankle injury during the team’s opening-round victory over Connacht.
Matthee has returned to Cape Town for treatment, while loose forwards Evan Roos and Marcel Theunissen have also been ruled out of the Edinburgh encounter through injury.
Ahmed, 20, made his Stormers debut against the All Blacks earlier this year and now has an opportunity to step into the starting role in the absence of Matthee, Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu and Damian Willemse.
Stormers seek second consecutive win
The Stormers opened their 2026/27 URC campaign with a 29–15 victory over Connacht in Galway, while Edinburgh began their season with a 34–29 win away to Ulster.
The Cape side will aim to maintain their winning start before returning to South Africa for their first home match of the campaign against the Sharks on 10 October.
Friday’s clash offers Kolisi an opportunity to make an immediate impact on his return, as the Stormers look to build early momentum in the competition.
