BEIJING, China — Novak Djokovic faces Alex de Minaur in the China Open final on Tuesday, not before 19:00 local time — 12:00 WAT.
The sixth seed is chasing a seventh Beijing title and a 102nd tour-level crown. The fifth seed wants a first trophy in the Chinese capital and a second of the season after winning Rotterdam in February. Djokovic leads the head-to-head 3-1, including their last meeting at Wimbledon last year.
Djokovic reached the final when Daniil Medvedev was defaulted in the semi-final, trailing 7-5, 5-3, after a ball struck a spectator. De Minaur advanced when Hubert Hurkacz retired with an adductor injury. The Serb is 33-0 in Beijing before the final and into his first ATP 500 championship match since Astana in 2022.
The men’s doubles final is not before 16:00 local time (09:00 WAT): Sander Arends and David Pel against second seeds Julian Cash and Lloyd Glasspool.
