Valery Karpin’s side have already won twice in this window. They beat Iran 2-0 in Kazan on 29 September, Aleksandr Golovin scoring both, then beat Namibia 6-0 in Yekaterinburg on Saturday. Lechi Sadulaev, Danil Prutsev, Konstantin Tyukavin, Maksim Glushenkov and a Maksim Petrov penalty were among the goals, with a Namibia own goal completing the rout.
Matvey Safonov has left the camp to return to Paris Saint-Germain and will not play. Nigeria, under Eric Chelle, are without several Europe-based players after the AFCON 2027 window, including Victor Osimhen. The Super Eagles beat Madagascar, then lost 3-0 in Guinea-Bissau.
The sides drew 1-1 in Moscow in June last year. Today is a friendly only. Russia remain outside UEFA competition.
