ALGIERS, Algeria — MC Alger reached the second preliminary round of the 2026/27 CAF Champions League after a 5-0 home win over AS Nigelec, completing a 5-0 aggregate victory.
The first leg in Niger had finished 0-0. The Algerian champions settled the tie in one night at home.
S. Konate opened the scoring in the 18th minute. An own goal made it 2-0 after the interval. Mohamed Salieu Bangoura added a third in the 76th minute, C. Boukholda scored in the 78th minute and Mossi Nduwumwe finished the scoring in the 82nd minute.
MC Alger led 1-0 at half-time and scored four times in the second half. Nigelec failed to score across both legs.
The Doyen will next face Nigeria’s Rangers International. The winner of that two-legged tie will move closer to the group stage of Africa’s premier club competition.
Nduwumwe, signed on loan from Tanzania’s Singida Black Stars after topping the NBC Premier League scoring charts last season, marked his continental night with the fifth goal.
