NAIROBI, Kenya — Former Harambee Stars midfielder Johanna Omolo has successfully obtained his UEFA A Diploma from the Royal Belgian Football Association.
The UEFA A Diploma is the second-highest coaching qualification offered by UEFA, ranking just below the prestigious UEFA Pro Licence. It qualifies holders to coach professional reserve teams, top-flight youth academies up to Under-18 level, second-tier professional men’s clubs, and top-tier women’s teams.
The 37-year-old began his European playing career in 2007 when he joined Belgian side CS Visé. He went on to feature for several clubs in Belgium, including a notable spell at Cercle Brugge, before ending his professional career in 2024 after leaving KV Oostende.
In addition to his new coaching qualification, Omolo also holds an Executive MBA in Sports Management, further strengthening his credentials as he transitions into coaching.
The achievement marks a significant step in the former Kenya international’s post-playing career as he prepares for the next chapter in football.
