The Pharaohs bounced back emphatically from their opening 0–0 draw with Angola, while Morocco maintained their perfect start with a 2–0 victory over Lesotho. Senegal also recorded their first win under Patrick Vieira, edging Ethiopia 1–0.
Algeria, meanwhile, came from two goals down to draw 2–2 with Burundi.
South Sudan 0–5 Egypt
Egypt responded to their frustrating opening draw by producing a commanding performance in Juba.
Mostafa Zico opened the scoring in the 36th minute before Omar Marmoush doubled the advantage four minutes after half-time.
Ibrahim Adel made it 3–0 in the 75th minute before Marmoush scored again eight minutes later to complete his brace.
Hamza Abdelkarim added a fifth in stoppage time to complete a convincing victory for the seven-time African champions.

Lesotho 0–2 Morocco
Morocco continued their perfect start to Group A with a controlled 2–0 victory over Lesotho.
The result gives Morocco six points from two matches, with four goals scored and none conceded.

Ethiopia 0–1 Senegal
Senegal secured their first victory under Patrick Vieira with a narrow win over Ethiopia.
Ibrahim Mbaye scored the only goal in the 11th minute after receiving a pass from Nicolas Jackson.
Senegal successfully protected their advantage to move to four points from their opening two Group J matches.

Burundi 2–2 Algeria
Algeria recovered from a difficult start to claim a point in Bujumbura.
Burundi took a two-goal lead inside the opening 12 minutes. Farès Chaïbi was credited with an own goal in the fifth minute before Jean Girumugisha doubled the advantage seven minutes later.
Mohamed El Amine Belloumi pulled one back for Algeria in the 30th minute, while Adil Boulbina completed the comeback with the equaliser in the 63rd minute.

Mozambique 4–1 Sudan
Mozambique produced an impressive second-half display to defeat Sudan 4–1 in Group J.
Witi put the hosts ahead in the 24th minute before Chamito doubled their advantage shortly after half-time.
Guima made it 3–0 in the 58th minute and Chamito scored again four minutes later to complete his brace.
Sudan pulled one back through Yaser Hamed’s 88th-minute penalty, but Mozambique comfortably secured all three points.

Comoros 1–0 Namibia
Comoros claimed their first qualifying victory by defeating Namibia 1–0 in Group G.
Benjaloud Youssouf scored the decisive goal in the 54th minute after a goalless first half.

Madagascar 1–1 Tanzania
Madagascar and Tanzania shared the points in Group L.
Tanzania took the lead through Cyprian Kachewele in the 39th minute, but Nicolas Fontaine equalised for Madagascar five minutes after the restart.

The draw gives both teams their first point of the campaign. Tanzania are already assured of a place at AFCON 2027 as one of the tournament’s co-hosts, leaving Madagascar to battle Nigeria and Guinea-Bissau for the available qualifying place in Group L.
