The victory maintained Spain’s perfect start in Group A3 and provided a memorable occasion in their first home match since winning the World Cup in July.
Yamal opened the scoring just two minutes into the contest, curling a low shot inside the far post after Alex Baena’s pass was cleverly allowed to run by Fermín López.
Croatia responded in the 28th minute when Dion Beljo headed home to restore parity, but Spain quickly regained the lead.
Less than three minutes later, Yamal delivered a cross from the right that Marc Pubill powered into the net with a header, putting the hosts 2–1 ahead.
Spain continued to control the contest after the break, and Yamal struck again in the 63rd minute. The Barcelona forward collected Pedri’s pass inside the penalty area before firing home from a tight angle to make it 3–1.
Nico Williams completed the scoring in the 89th minute, finishing off Spain’s convincing performance with a late fourth goal.

Spain’s latest victory followed their 3–2 win over England at Wembley, further strengthening their position at the top of Group A3.
The result was also a repeat of the 2023 Nations League final, when Spain defeated Croatia on penalties to lift the trophy.
Spain will next face the Czech Republic on Saturday as they look to continue their winning start to the campaign.
