The decisive moment came early in the second half when Miguel Sierra reacted quickest to a rebound and fired Sevilla ahead in the 52nd minute. The result ended Deportivo’s unbeaten start to the league campaign and moved Sevilla to 13 points from six matches.

The opening half was closely contested, with both sides struggling to create clear opportunities. Sevilla looked dangerous in transition, while Deportivo tried to use the pace of their attacking players to trouble the visitors.
Neither side could find the breakthrough before half-time, sending the teams into the interval level at 0-0.
Sevilla finally broke the deadlock seven minutes after the restart. Lucas Stassin's effort was saved by Deportivo goalkeeper Leo Román, but Miguel Sierra reacted quickest to the rebound and calmly found the bottom corner to make it 1-0.
The goal gave Sevilla greater control of the contest, but Deportivo were handed another setback in the 59th minute when Angeliño was initially shown a red card following a challenge on Sierra. The decision was subsequently reviewed by VAR and the red card was revoked, although the incident remained a significant moment in the match.
Deportivo pushed for an equaliser during the closing stages, but Sevilla's defence held firm. Leo Román also made important saves to keep his side within reach of a point, but the visitors ultimately secured all three points.
The victory moved Sevilla to 13 points from six matches, with four wins, one draw and one defeat. They have now put together a strong run of results after beating Valencia 1-0 in their previous league outing.
For Deportivo, the defeat was their first of the LaLiga season after five matches without losing. Antonio Hidalgo's side remained on nine points following the setback at home.
Sevilla will now return to the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán for a major test against Barcelona on Saturday, while Deportivo will look to respond in their next league fixture.
