MANCHESTER, England — Brazilian winger Allan Elias has described joining Manchester City as the proudest moment of his life after completing his transfer from Palmeiras.
The 22-year-old put pen to paper on a five-year contract that will keep him at the Etihad Stadium until the summer of 2031. The deal is worth up to £34.2 million, with an initial fee of around £32 million plus add-ons.
Speaking after the move was confirmed, Elias expressed his delight at the opportunity.
“This is a surreal moment for me. Manchester City are one of the most attractive clubs in the world for players,” he said.
“To be able to sit here today and say I have joined them is the proudest moment of my life.”
Elias, who can operate primarily as a right winger but is also comfortable in midfield or as a second striker, arrives as a direct replacement for fellow Brazilian Savinho, who recently departed for Tottenham Hotspur in a major deal.
The young attacker came through the Palmeiras academy and made 96 appearances for the Brazilian club, scoring nine goals and providing 12 assists. He was named the breakthrough player in the Brazilian top flight in 2025 and has been praised for his work rate, dribbling ability and versatility.
City director of football Hugo Viana welcomed the signing, describing Elias as an exciting addition who has shown the determination to fight to reach the highest level.
Elias becomes the latest Brazilian to make the switch from Palmeiras to the Etihad, following in the footsteps of players such as Gabriel Jesus and more recently Vitor Reis. He has spoken of his desire to follow the successful path of previous Brazilians at the club, including Jesus, Ederson and Fernandinho.
The winger will now begin his adaptation to life in the Premier League under head coach Enzo Maresca. City supporters will be hoping the new arrival can make an immediate impact as the team continues its campaign on multiple fronts.
Elias arrives with high expectations and the clear ambition to establish himself as a key player at one of the world’s leading clubs.
