PARIS, France — Strasbourg claimed a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Lens on Saturday as the second matchday of the 2026/27 Ligue 1 season continued, while Lyon were held to a 1-1 draw at home by Le Havre and Angers produced a strong away performance to defeat Auxerre 3-1.
At the Stade de la Meinau, Florian Thauvin gave Lens the lead from the penalty spot in the 38th minute. Gessime Yassine equalised shortly after half-time and then scored the winner in the 85th minute to secure all three points for the home side.
Lyon struggled to break down a resilient Le Havre side at the Groupama Stadium. Mbwana Samatta put the visitors ahead in the 74th minute before Loïs Openda rescued a point for the hosts with a late equaliser in the 87th minute.
Angers impressed on the road, with Branco van den Boomen opening the scoring early. Rémy Labeau Lascary pulled one back for Auxerre, but late goals from Harouna Djibirin and Amine El Ouazzani sealed a comfortable win for the visitors.
In other fixtures, Brest and Toulouse shared the points in a 2-2 draw. Kamory Doumbia and a stoppage-time equaliser from Ludovic Ajorque earned Brest a point after Jacen Russell-Rowe and Christ Tapé had put Toulouse ahead at different stages.
Troyes continued their solid start with a 2-1 win at Lorient, thanks to a penalty from Renaud Ripart and a goal from Lucas Maronnier. Jean-Victor Makengo scored for the hosts.
The results leave several sides closely matched near the top of the early table following Friday’s 2-2 draw between Lille and Paris Saint-Germain. Sunday’s fixtures include Paris FC against Nice, Rennes versus Le Mans, and the high-profile clash between Monaco and Marseille.
