Gor Mahia and Rayon Sports Set for CECAFA Kagame Cup Final Showdown

KIGALI, Rwanda — Kenyan giants Gor Mahia will face hosts Rayon Sports in the final of the 2026 CECAFA Kagame Cup on Friday, 7 August at the Amahoro Stadium.

The Kenyan side booked their place in the final earlier on Tuesday with a dramatic 1-1 draw against Sudanese club Al Hilal, progressing 8-7 on penalties after 120 minutes of action.

Hosts Rayon Sports completed the final pairing later the same evening, defeating South Sudan’s Jamus SC 3-1 in the second semi-final.

The final will take place at the Amahoro Stadium in Kigali, with the winners set to claim the regional club crown and a cash prize of US$30,000. The runners-up will receive US$20,000.

Gor Mahia, three-time winners of the competition, are seeking to end a long wait for the title, while Rayon Sports will be aiming to lift the trophy on home soil.
