JEDDAH, Saudi Arabia — Super Falcons forward Francisca Ordega has left Al-Ittihad, the Saudi Women’s Premier League club has announced.
The experienced Nigerian international parts ways with the Jeddah side after two seasons. Ordega joined Al-Ittihad from Russian club CSKA Moscow in January 2025, signing a two-year deal that was due to run until the summer of 2027.
During her time in Saudi Arabia the 32-year-old contributed regularly in the Women’s Premier League, making more than 20 appearances and scoring seven goals according to club records. She also featured for the Super Falcons during the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations campaign.
Ordega’s move to the Middle East reunited her with fellow Nigerian international Ashleigh Plumptre and formed part of a wider trend of African players joining the rapidly growing Saudi women’s league. The Benue State-born forward arrived with an extensive career that has taken her across five continents, including successful spells with Washington Spirit in the United States, Piteå IF in Sweden, Shanghai Shengli in China, and CSKA Moscow, where she scored 24 league goals in 62 appearances.
A four-time FIFA Women’s World Cup participant (2011, 2015, 2019 and 2023) and multiple Africa Women’s Cup of Nations winner with Nigeria, Ordega has been one of the most consistent and widely travelled Nigerian women’s footballers of her generation.
The departure leaves the Super Falcons star as a free agent. At 32 she remains capable of attracting interest from clubs seeking proven experience and leadership in attack. No official statement has yet been released regarding her next destination.
Al-Ittihad’s decision to part company with the forward comes as the Saudi Women’s Premier League continues to evolve, with several clubs adjusting their squads ahead of the new season. Ordega’s exit marks the end of another chapter in a career defined by resilience, adaptability and longevity at both club and international level.
