APR FC Edge Vipers 2-1 but Exit CECAFA Kagame Cup

KIGALI, Rwanda — APR FC claimed a 2-1 victory over Vipers SC in their final group match at the 2026 CECAFA Kagame Cup, but the result was not enough to keep the Rwandan champions in the competition.

Mamadou Traoré opened the scoring in the 20th minute for APR. Gusto Mulongo equalised for the Ugandan side in the 38th minute, before Djibril Ouattara restored the lead in the 60th minute to secure the three points.

Despite the win, APR’s campaign has come to an end. The Rwandan side finish their group-stage journey without progressing to the knockout rounds of the regional tournament.
