History Made: Barau FC Clinch First-Ever NPFL Promotion with 2–0 Win Over Doma United

Barau FC have officially secured promotion to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) for the first time in the club’s history, following a commanding 2–0 victory over Doma United in their final group stage match of the NNL Super 8 Playoffs at the DELSU Stadium, Ozoro.

The Kano-based club rose to the occasion with a clinical performance. Usman Maidubji opened the scoring to give Barau the early lead, while Mohammed Shammasu—fresh from winning the NNL Goal of the Month award—sealed the win with another stunning finish.

The result capped off a historic campaign for Barau FC, whose strong display throughout the playoffs now sees them step into Nigeria’s elite football division for the first time ever.
