Young Nigerian center-back Benjamin Fredrick has completed a season-long loan move from English Premier League side Brentford to FC Dender, a newly promoted club in the Belgian Pro League.
The move comes after an impressive spell with Brentford’s U21 team, where the 19-year-old was named U21 Player of the Year for the 2023/24 season. Fredrick has been one of Nigeria’s most promising defensive prospects, known for his composure on the ball, aerial strength, and tactical awareness.
He made his Super Eagles debut during the Unity Cup in London in May 2025, and his growing profile has reportedly caught the attention of Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle, who is looking to infuse younger talent into the national team’s defensive line.
The loan to FC Dender is expected to provide Fredrick with valuable first-team experience in a top European league as he continues his development on the international stage.
