FRCN Partners with NNL to Broadcast Live Matches of Super Eight Playoff

In a landmark move aimed at boosting awareness and accessibility to Nigeria's second-tier league, the Nigeria National League (NNL) has forged a partnership with the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) to provide live commentary for all matches of the Super Eight playoff. Scheduled to take place in Enugu from June 7th to 14th, 2024, this collaboration marks a significant milestone in promoting grassroots football across the nation.

Chairman of the NNL League Board, Mr. George Aluo, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, highlighting the unprecedented opportunity it presents for football enthusiasts nationwide. With FRCN's extensive reach as the largest radio network in Africa, fans from every corner of the country, including the remotest villages, will be able to follow the competition from start to finish. Mr. Aluo extended his gratitude to the Director General and Chief Executive Officer of FRCN, Dr. Mohammed Bulama, and his management team for their generous support of Nigeria's premier league.

Head of Sports and outside broadcast at FRCN, Mrs. Grace Iliya, together with her team, conveyed the network's commitment to providing ample airtime and partnering with NNL. This gesture was warmly received by the Chief Executive and Chief Operating Officers of the League, Mr. Emmanuel Attah and Dr. Ayo Abdulrahaman.

The Super Eight playoff is an annual event that determines the overall champion of the NNL, as well as the teams that will secure promotion to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL). Among the eight qualifying teams are Nasarawa United, Sporting Supreme of Abuja, Sokoto United, El-Kanemi Warriors of Maiduguri, Beyond Limits FC of Ikenne, Madiba FC Lagos, Inter Lagos, and Ikorodu United, all poised to showcase their talent and compete for top honors.

This collaboration between NNL and FRCN signifies a significant step forward in elevating Nigerian football to greater heights, promising an exciting and inclusive experience for fans nationwide.
