Kwara United thrash AS Douanes of Niger Republic in CAF Confederation Cup

By Emmanuel Oladele - Kwara United on Sunday evening thrashed AS Douanes of Niamey, Niger Republic by 3-0 to earn a vital win over the Nigerien side in the 1st preliminary round of the 2022 CAF Confederation Cup game at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Onikan, Lagos, Nigeria.

Paul Samson put the Ilorin based team ahead in the 5th minute of the first half, before Wasiu Jimoh spot kick in the 17th minute doubled Kwara United's lead.

Towards the end of the first half, Jimoh Wasiu scored his second goal of the game in the 40th minute to earn the home side a comfortable 3-0 lead before the half time. The second half of the encounter failed to produce goal as the encounter ended 3-0 in favour of Kwara United.

The second leg of the encounter hold on Sunday 18th September, 2022 at Stade Général Seyni Kountché in Niamey, Niger Republic, kickoff time is 16:15WAT.
