Former Golden Eaglets, Coach John Sam Obuh has explained his decision to take Granada’s Ramon Azeez over Leicester midfielder Wilfred Ndidi during the pairs time at the U20 level.
Obuh told brila.net exclusively via a phone call that Ndidi plays well at right-back while Ramon Azeez plays the midfield during their days in the Flying Eagles.
However, the coach said Ndidi can also be drafted to the defensive midfield role as he is doing it presently with the Super Eagles team because of his tackling abilities.
In his words,“Azeez controls, distribute and can ascertain that killer passes and also has a sense of control at the midfield."
Azeez and Ndidi both played under John Obuh while he was coaching the national U20 team in different positions back then in 2012.
