River United have qualified for the Caf Confederations cup after playing a goalless draw in Kigali,Rwanda against Rayon Sports. The Port Harcourt based team scale through on 2-0 aggregate scoreline after winning the first leg 2-0 in Nigeria almost a week ago. The Stanley Eguma's led team task became tougher when Ifeanyi Nweke received a straight red card with over 30minutes left but they remain solid to prevent the hosts from scoring.
The team now joined fifteen others in the group stage of the competition.
