YEKATERINBURG, Russia — Russia produced a dominant display to defeat Namibia 6-0 in an international friendly at the Ekaterinburg Arena on Saturday.
The hosts took control of the match after a goalless opening half-hour. Lechi Sadulaev opened the scoring in the 37th minute, finishing a neat move assisted by Artem Karpukas.
After the break, Russia increased the tempo. Danil Prutsev doubled the lead in the 54th minute, before Konstantin Tyukavin made it 3-0 on 65 minutes. Late goals from Maksim Glushenkov (84) and Maksim Petrov (87, penalty) extended the advantage, with Namibia goalkeeper Kamaijanda Ndisiro completing the scoring with an own goal in stoppage time.
Russia enjoyed the majority of possession and created numerous chances throughout the contest, while Namibia struggled to mount a sustained response. The result provided valuable match practice for Valery Karpin’s side as they continue their international schedule.
