Captain Ivana Andrés was Inter’s late hero at the Franz-Horr-Stadion in Vienna, finding the net in the final action of the match to rescue a point for the Italian side in their second league-phase fixture.
Austria Wien took the lead in the 21st minute through Modesta Uka, whose powerful left-footed effort from distance put the hosts ahead after they had made an aggressive start.
The Austrian side continued to trouble Inter with their high press and intensity, limiting the visitors’ opportunities to build attacks. Inter goalkeeper Cecilia Rúnarsdóttir was called into action on several occasions to keep her team in the contest.
Inter head coach David Sassarini made several changes at half-time, introducing Elisa Polli, Haley Raphino, Lina Magull and Milinković as his side searched for an equaliser.
The visitors came close in the 72nd minute when Raphino broke through on goal, but Austria Wien goalkeeper goalkeeper Isabella Pal made a crucial save. Magull was unable to convert the rebound.
Raphino threatened again six minutes later, setting up Benedetta Glionna, whose effort was stopped by Pal.
Inter’s persistence finally paid off in stoppage time. Following a late corner and a scramble inside the penalty area, Andrés controlled the ball and fired home in the 93rd minute to earn her side a share of the points.
The draw takes Inter to four points from their opening two matches in the 2026/27 UEFA Women’s Champions League league phase, following their 1-0 victory over Häcken in their opener.
Inter will return to European action on Wednesday, 28 October, when they travel to face OL Lyonnes.
