Inter Milan sweep aside Parma as Sucic, Calhanoglu and Thuram seal convincing victory

Milan, Italy — Inter Milan returned from the international break in impressive fashion, beating Parma 3–0 at San Siro on Saturday, 10 October 2026, after scoring three times in a dominant first-half performance.

Petar Sucic opened the scoring in the 13th minute before Hakan Calhanoglu converted a penalty and Marcus Thuram added a third to put Cristian Chivu’s side firmly in control. Inter managed the game comfortably after the interval to claim all three points in their Serie A Matchday Six encounter.

The victory took Inter to 16 points from six league matches, strengthening their position among the early contenders in the Italian top flight.

Sucic capitalises on Parma’s defensive mistake

Parma showed some attacking intent in the opening stages, with Emanuele Valeri Touré testing Inter’s defensive organisation. However, the visitors’ resistance was broken in the 13th minute by a costly error while playing out from the back.

Parma goalkeeper Edoardo Corvi played a short pass towards Mandela Keita, but Sucic pressed aggressively, won possession and fired a left-footed effort beneath the crossbar.

The goal rewarded Inter’s high pressing and gave the hosts the early advantage they had been seeking.

Calhanoglu doubles the lead from the penalty spot

Inter quickly extended their advantage after Pio Esposito went down in the penalty area following a challenge by Diego Carlos.

After reviewing the incident on the pitchside monitor, the referee awarded a penalty. Calhanoglu stepped up and converted in the 18th minute, sending a powerful effort beyond Corvi despite the goalkeeper getting a touch.

The goal left Parma with a difficult task against an Inter side growing in confidence and controlling possession.

Thuram finishes a fluent Inter move

Inter added a third in the 31st minute through Thuram, who finished a well-executed attacking move.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan played a precise forward pass into the French striker’s path, allowing Thuram to advance into the penalty area before beating Corvi with a low right-footed finish.

The goal capped an efficient first-half display in which Inter took their chances and punished Parma’s defensive errors.

Inter control the second half

Parma attempted to respond after the break but struggled to find a way through Inter’s organised defence.

Corvi prevented the scoreline from becoming heavier with a save against another Inter attack involving Thuram and Federico Dimarco. Inter also introduced fresh legs as Chivu managed his players following the international break.

Djed Spence made his Inter debut, while Parma were unable to turn their second-half efforts into a goal. The visitors’ best opportunities failed to trouble the scoreboard, and Inter saw out the contest without conceding.

Inter strengthen their early-season position

The 3–0 result gave Inter a strong return to domestic action and extended their points tally to 16 after six Serie A matches.

For Chivu, the performance demonstrated the value of an aggressive press, clinical finishing and control after building a substantial lead. Sucic’s opener, Calhanoglu’s penalty and Thuram’s composed finish settled the contest before half-time.

Parma, meanwhile, will need to address the defensive mistakes that proved costly at San Siro as they prepare for their next league fixture against Torino.
