The CAF Executive Committee, chaired by president Patrice Motsepe, approved the dates during its meeting on Friday, 2 October 2026, alongside a broader 2026–2030 competitions calendar.
Women’s Champions League set for November
The 2026 CAF Women’s Champions League final tournament will take place from 1 to 15 November.
The competition will bring together Africa’s leading women’s club sides, with teams competing for continental honours during the two-week tournament.
CAF’s confirmation provides participating clubs and national associations with greater certainty as preparations enter the final stages.
Senegal to host Beach Soccer AFCON
Senegal has been confirmed as the host of the 2026 CAF Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations.
The tournament will run from 28 November to 6 December, with the hosts entering the competition as defending champions.
Senegal are the record five-time champions of the Beach Soccer AFCON and have won the last five editions, including the 2024 tournament in Egypt.
The 2026 tournament will also carry added significance, with qualification for the 2027 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup among the incentives for the participating nations.
Nigeria to host two major CAF events
The latest CAF decisions also confirmed a busy period for Nigerian football.
Lagos will host the 2026 CAF Awards on 7 December, while Abuja is scheduled to host the CAF Ordinary General Assembly on 21 November.
The CAF Executive Committee also approved the 2026–2030 competitions calendar, providing a longer-term framework for the scheduling of continental competitions.
With the Women’s Champions League, Beach Soccer AFCON and CAF Awards all scheduled for the final months of the year, African football is set for a busy conclusion to 2026.
