The squad touched down at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport at approximately 7:45pm on Tuesday and were received by officials of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
Having been crowned champions of the regional tournament, the Flamingos gained valuable competitive experience that will serve them well as they prepare for the 2027 FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup in Morocco.
The players and technical staff are expected to take a short break before resuming camp in the capital. The return to training will allow the coaching crew to evaluate the team’s performance in Côte d’Ivoire and continue refining preparations for the global finals.
The championship victory has provided a strong platform for the young side. The Flamingos will now concentrate on maintaining their momentum, building on the lessons learnt during the WAFU-B campaign, and ensuring they arrive at the World Cup in peak condition.
The NFF and the coaching staff remain focused on giving the players the best possible preparation as they look to make a strong impression on the world stage in Morocco next year.
