OUAGADOUGOU, Burkina Faso — Edo Queens forward Doosur Anastasia has been named Top Scorer of the 2026 WAFU-B CAF Women’s Champions League qualifiers after the Nigerian champions closed the tournament with both the team trophy and a major individual prize.
The award was presented at the end of a competition staged in Burkina Faso from late August to 5 September. Edo Queens beat Ampem Darkoa Ladies of Ghana 4-1 on penalties in the final after a 2-2 draw at the Stade du 4-Août, taking Zone B’s only place at the CAF Women’s Champions League.
Anastasia, also known in domestic reporting as Atume Doosuur, was among the tournament’s most consistent finishers. She scored twice in Edo Queens’ 7-0 opening win over AS Garde Nationale, added the first goal in the 5-1 semi-final demolition of hosts USFA, and struck again in the fourth minute of the final. That early goal in the decider set the tone before Ampem Darkoa recovered and Edo Queens forced extra drama through a stoppage-time equaliser and a successful shoot-out.
The Golden Boot caps a strong year for the striker. She shared the 2025/26 NWFL Premiership top-scorer honour with Rivers Angels’ Abasiofon Uwah, each finishing on 13 goals, before carrying that form into the regional qualifiers.
Edo Queens also collected the Best Player award through Oluwakemi Adegbuyi. Between them, the two honours underlined the depth of the Nigerian attack in Ouagadougou. Edo Queens scored freely in the group stage and knockout rounds and now return to the CAF Women’s Champions League as WAFU-B champions for the second time in three seasons, after their 2024 regional title.
For Anastasia, the top-scorer trophy is recognition of finishing that decided matches when it mattered. For Edo Queens, it is another mark on a campaign that ended with qualification, a regional crown and the individual prizes to match.
