Crystal Palace Women Sign Nigeria Goalkeeper Comfort Erhabor from Portsmouth

LONDON, England — Crystal Palace Women have completed the signing of Super Falcons goalkeeper Comfort Erhabor from Portsmouth Ladies.

The club confirmed the arrival of the Nigeria international with a statement reading: “Welcome to Palace, Comfort. We are delighted to announce the signing of Nigeria international goalkeeper Comfort Erhabor.”

The 21-year-old shot-stopper joins the Eagles on a free transfer after her time at Portsmouth. Erhabor had been with the south-coast club since July 2025, initially on a permanent deal following an earlier loan spell.

Born on 26 April 2005 in the Netherlands to Nigerian parents from Edo State, Erhabor was raised in England. She came through the West Ham United academy before signing her first professional contract with Brighton & Hove Albion in January 2024. Loan spells at Hibernian in Scotland and Plymouth Argyle followed, giving her valuable senior experience across different levels of the women’s game.

At international level, Erhabor has represented Nigeria at youth level and earned her first senior call-ups to the Super Falcons in 2026. She made her debut in a friendly against Cameroon and was part of the squad for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, where she gained further exposure as a backup option behind established first-choice Chiamaka Nnadozie.

Standing at 1.80m, Erhabor is regarded as a confident and technically sound goalkeeper with strong shot-stopping ability and composure under pressure. Her move to Crystal Palace, who earned promotion back to the Women’s Super League for the 2026/27 season, represents a step up in competition and an opportunity for regular high-level football.

The signing strengthens Palace’s goalkeeping options as they prepare for life back in the top flight under manager Jo Potter. For Erhabor, the transfer offers a new platform to continue her development both at club level and with the Super Falcons.

The young goalkeeper’s progressive career path — from academy football in England to senior international recognition with Nigeria — underlines her potential as one of the emerging talents in African women’s football.
