WAFCON 2026: Qualified and Eliminated Teams So Far

RABAT / CASABLANCA, Morocco — After two matchdays in most groups at the TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, only one team has officially secured a place in the quarter-finals, while several sides remain in contention and others face elimination in the final round of fixtures.

Qualified for the Quarter-Finals

• Morocco (Group A) The hosts have six points from two wins (including a 1-0 victory over Algeria) and are the first team to book their place in the last eight.

No other group has completed its matches to the point of mathematical certainty for a second qualifier.

Group D (after Matchday 1) Ghana lead after a win, with Cameroon, Mali and Cape Verde still to complete their fixtures.

Teams Close to Elimination

• Kenya (Group A) – zero points and a heavy goal difference; need a miracle in their final match.
• Egypt (Group C) – heavy defeat to Zambia leaves them with work to do.
• South Africa (Group B) – only one point and must win their final match against Burkina Faso to have any chance.
• Cape Verde (Group D) – still searching for points in their debut tournament.

• Group A: Morocco vs Senegal; Algeria vs Kenya
• Group B: Côte d’Ivoire vs Tanzania; Burkina Faso vs South Africa
• Group C and Group D: remaining fixtures to decide the second qualifiers.

Morocco are the only side guaranteed a quarter-final place so far. The remaining seven spots will be decided on the final matchday, with several groups still finely balanced.
