The Pride of Rivers broke the deadlock late in the contest through home-grown forward Iyounna Douglas, who finished a well-worked move set up by Abdurrashidi Dabai to give the hosts a deserved win.
The match formed part of Rivers United’s preparations for the 2026/27 season under Technical Adviser Finidi George. Enyimba Chairman Nwankwo Kanu was among those in attendance, and was welcomed by George and his assistant Yemi Olanrewaju before kick-off.
Both sides used the fixture to assess squad options and build match fitness ahead of the new campaign. Rivers United will continue their pre-season programme in the coming days, including participation in the ValueJet26 Cup later this month.
