The Reds are willing to pay around £100m for the 23-year-old, although PSG are holding out for a fee closer to £145m.
Barcola has established himself as a key attacker at the French champions, contributing to consecutive Champions League triumphs. He came off the bench in both the 2025 and 2026 finals as PSG beat Inter Milan and then Arsenal on penalties.
The versatile forward, who prefers the left wing but can also operate on the right or through the middle, joined PSG from Lyon in 2023 for a reported £38.5m. Since then he has collected three Ligue 1 titles, two French Cups, the Uefa Super Cup and the Fifa Intercontinental Cup.
Liverpool finished fifth in the Premier League last season and are rebuilding their attack following Mohamed Salah’s departure. With Hugo Ekitike sidelined by a serious Achilles injury and Cody Gakpo linked with a move away, the club view Barcola as a high-priority target capable of adding pace, directness and goal threat.
Barcola scored three times for France at this summer’s World Cup and has already earned 28 senior caps. A move to Anfield would also offer him the prospect of more consistent starting opportunities than he currently enjoys at PSG, where he competes with Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Désiré Doué for wide positions.
