The discussions, scheduled for Wednesday in Rabat, come amid mounting criticism of Infantino’s leadership following the collapse of his controversial plan to sell a stake in FIFA’s commercial and event operations.
Reports indicate that several football associations, along with senior figures including chief of global football development Arsène Wenger and FIFA secretary general Mattias Grafström, have raised concerns over the direction and proposals advanced by the president.
Wenger stated that withdrawing the commercial plan was “absolutely necessary and beyond question,” while Grafström described recent events as a “sad and reproachable series of events” in an internal communication to staff.
Infantino, who has been based in Morocco in recent days, is expected to use the meeting to address the fallout and attempt to consolidate backing within the organisation ahead of the 2027 FIFA Congress, which is also due to be held in the North African country.
