Nigeria has been selected as the host nation for the Confederation of African Football’s annual awards, returning the event to the country after previous editions were staged elsewhere. The announcement underscores Nigeria’s growing role in continental football administration and event hosting.
The Wole Soyinka Centre, a major cultural venue in Lagos, has been designated as the location for the awards night. The ceremony will celebrate the best players, coaches and teams across African football for the 2025/26 season.
Nigeria previously hosted the CAF Awards in 2015. The return of the event is expected to boost sports tourism and further elevate the profile of African football on the global stage.
