Kaizer Chiefs Receive Bye into CAF Confederation Cup Second Preliminary Round

JOHANNESBURG, South Africa — Kaizer Chiefs have been granted a bye into the second preliminary round of the 2026/27 CAF Confederation Cup.

The Amakhosi will skip the first preliminary round after CAF rejected the participation of AS Otohô (Congo-Brazzaville) due to the country not having a league season for a year. Chiefs have taken their place among the eight clubs entering at the second stage.

This development gives the Soweto giants extra preparation time before their continental campaign begins later in the preliminary phase.
