KIGALI, Rwanda — Assistant coach Guy Bukasa has decided to leave Al Hilal, despite the club’s preference for him to remain.
The Congolese tactician guided Al Hilal to a third-place finish at the recently concluded CECAFA Kagame Cup. The club had wanted him to stay on, join the new coaching staff and also take charge of Al Hilal B.
However, Bukasa feels ready to lead a first team and does not wish to continue in an assistant capacity. He has therefore opted to move on and will now decide his next career step.
The decision marks the end of his spell with the Sudanese club. Bukasa’s contribution during the Kagame Cup campaign has been noted, and he leaves with the experience of helping the side secure a podium finish in the regional competition.
Further updates on his next destination are expected once he finalises his plans.
