According to WAFU B, the zone will be allocated just one qualifying place alongside the automatic berth for host nation Ghana. Only the champions of the ongoing WAFU B U-20 Championship, or the runners-up should Ghana win the zonal qualifiers, will progress to the continental finals.
The arrangement means competition within WAFU B will be intense as teams battle for the single available ticket to join the Black Satellites at the 2027 tournament.
