A One-Club Giant
Baresi spent his entire professional career at AC Milan between 1977 and 1997, making 719 appearances and captaining the side for 15 seasons. He led the Rossoneri through one of the most dominant periods in European football, winning:

- 3 European Cups / Champions League titles
- Multiple UEFA Super Cups and Intercontinental Cups
Following his retirement, AC Milan permanently retired the No. 6 shirt in his honour — the first player in the club’s history to receive that distinction. He later served as the club’s Honorary Vice-President.

At international level, Baresi won 81 caps for Italy. He was part of the Azzurri side that lifted the 1982 FIFA World Cup and captained Italy to the final of the 1994 World Cup in the United States.
