Club Brugge were officially crowned champions on Thursday night following a dramatic 2-2 draw away to KV Mechelen, a result that confirmed them at the top of the table with one game still left to play.
The Super Eagles midfielder played a key role throughout the campaign, delivering several commanding performances in the heart of midfield as Brugge maintained consistency in the title race. Onyedika finished the league season with 30 appearances and one goal for the Belgian giants.
The league triumph marks the sixth major trophy of Onyedika’s professional career. Since joining Club Brugge from Danish side Midtjylland in 2022, the 25-year-old has now won two Belgian league titles, the Belgian Cup and the Belgian Super Cup with the club.
Before moving to Belgium, Onyedika also enjoyed success in Denmark, where he won both the Danish league and domestic cup titles during his time with FC Midtjylland.
Beyond domestic success, the Nigerian midfielder also impressed on the European stage this season. He was one of Club Brugge’s standout performers in the UEFA Champions League as the Belgian side reached the knockout stage once again.
Onyedika’s consistent rise continues to strengthen his reputation as one of Nigeria’s most reliable midfielders in Europe, with several top European clubs reportedly monitoring his progress ahead of the summer transfer window.
