Ryan Crouser, widely considered the greatest shot putter of all time, has once again proven his dominance by winning the gold medal at the Tokyo 2025 World Championships. In his season opener, the American superstar hurled a winning throw of 22.34m to secure the top spot on the podium.
The victory marks a remarkable return to competition for Crouser, who had been sidelined all season with an elbow injury. He was the only athlete to throw over 22 meters in the final, solidifying his third consecutive world title.
The silver medal was a surprise for Mexico, as Uziel Muñoz delivered the throw of his life on his final attempt, a national record of 21.97m, to leap into second place. Leonardo Fabbri of Italy secured the bronze medal with a throw of 21.94m.
