Namibia U20 Male team began their COSAFA U20 Championship campaign with a narrow 1-0 defeat to Angola U20 at the Dr Hage Geingob Stadium in Windhoek.
The match was closely contested, with both sides battling for control in midfield, but it was Danilson who proved to be the difference, scoring the game’s only goal to seal all three points for Angola.
Despite a spirited performance in front of their home fans, Namibia were unable to break through a disciplined Angolan defense. The hosts created a few chances late on, but couldn't find the equalizer.
The result puts Angola in a strong early position in the group, while Namibia will look to bounce back in their next fixture as they aim to keep their knockout hopes alive in the 2025 U20 COSAFA Cup.
