Kenya’s Faith Cherotich delivered a sensational performance at the Oslo Diamond League, clocking a World Lead and Meet Record time of 9:02.60 to win the women’s 3000m steeplechase.
Cherotich once again outclassed Olympic Champion Winfred Yavi of Bahrain, who finished second in a season’s best of 9:02.76. This marks the second time this season that Cherotich has defeated Yavi, further establishing her dominance in the event.
Maria Bouzayani of Tunisia claimed third place, running a personal best of 9:06.84.
Cherotich's commanding run not only earned her the win but also reaffirmed her as a major contender in global steeplechase competition this year.
