Edo Queens Triumph Over CBE FC with Dominant 3-0 Victory in CAF Women's Champions League Opener

Edo Queens FC made a powerful statement in their opening game of the 2024 CAF Women's Champions League, defeating CBE FC 3-0 in a convincing display at the Larbi Zaouli Stadium in Casablanca. Goals from Emem Peace, Flolashade Florence Ijamilusi, and Chukwuamaka Goodness Osigwe secured the Nigerian side a valuable three points and put them on top of Group B.

Edo Queens set the tone early, with Emem Peace finding the back of the net in just the 5th minute. Her quick strike gave the team a crucial early lead and allowed them to control the game's tempo. As CBE FC struggled to respond, Edo Queens continued to apply pressure, showing their offensive strength and strong teamwork.

The second half saw Edo Queens further extend their advantage. In the 54th minute, Flolashade Florence Ijamilusi doubled the lead, capitalizing on a well-worked team play to beat the CBE FC defense and put her side firmly in control. As the clock ticked down, Chukwuamaka Goodness Osigwe sealed the victory in the 80th minute, capping off a dominant performance with a third goal.

With this victory, Edo Queens have set themselves up as early favorites in Group B. Their impressive performance will boost their confidence as they look ahead to the remaining group-stage matches in their quest for CAF Women's Champions League glory.

Edo Queens will look to build on this strong start as they continue their campaign, while CBE FC will aim to regroup and bounce back in their upcoming games.
