Rivers Angels Secure First Victory in 2024 NWFL Super 6 with Win Over Edo Queens

In a gripping encounter at the Samson Siasia Stadium in Yenagoa, Rivers Angels claimed their first victory in the 2024 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Super 6, defeating Edo Queens 2-1 on Matchday 2.

The game witnessed an early breakthrough for Rivers Angels as Florence Alexander found the back of the net in the 10th minute, giving the Jewel of Rivers the lead. Despite Edo Queens' efforts to equalize, Rivers Angels maintained their defensive resilience.

Yet, Edo Queens swiftly responded, with Emem Essien showcasing her skill in the 32nd minute by dribbling past her marker and confidently beating Rivers Angels' goalkeeper, Ademola Morufa, to pull one goal back for her team.

With the final whistle blown, Rivers Angels clinched all three points, securing their first win in the 2024 NWFL Super 6. The victory propelled them to four points from their two games.
