In a thrilling display of skill and prowess, Edo Queens asserted their dominance over Confluence Queens in the opening match of the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Super Six tournament. The match, held at the Samson Siasia Stadium in Yenagoa, witnessed an impressive performance from Edo Queens, who secured a convincing 5-1 victory.
The scoring opened early in the game when Emem Essien of Edo Queens found the back of the net in the 13th minute, setting the tone for her team's commanding performance. Merit Offor of Confluence Queens responded with a goal in the 21st minute, briefly narrowing the gap.
However, Edo Queens quickly regained control, with Goodness Osigwe adding two goals to the tally in the 23rd and 60th minutes, respectively. Chioma Moses and Emem Essien contributed another goal each, in the 34th and 39th minutes, further solidifying Edo Queens' lead.
Despite Confluence Queens' efforts, they were unable to match the intensity and precision of their opponents, ultimately succumbing to Edo Queens' superior performance.
