Super Eagles Striker Rushed to the Hospital in Italy

By Olamide Oyetunji - Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen is having a rough time as a professional footballer after he yet again ended on the treatment table.

Super Eagles poacher was rushed to the hospital after a collision with Cristian Romero in Napoli’s 4-2 defeat to Atalanta in Sunday’s titanic Italian Serie A game in Naples.

Nigeria and Napoli forward Victor Osimhen was taken to the hospital after suffering a head injury at the end of regulation time.

The 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup winner according to various media reports lost consciousness briefly towards the end of the game.

The Nigeria international was quickly evacuated on a stretcher in the 90th minute after his head hit the ground following a duel with Cristian Romero.

He has been transported to hospital by Ambulance according to Sky and he is expected to have a short spell on the sideline again this term.

It must be recalled that Victor Osimhen suffered a shoulder injury in a 2022 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Sierra Leone in Benin, November last year before testing positive to Covid-19 few months later.

The former Lille striker has not really settled down since the big money move to the Italian league and Napoli could have to do without him for an extensive period of time.

Furthermore, Victor Osimhen is the leading goalscorer in the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers and Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr could be forced to look elsewhere for alternative as Nigeria prepares to face Benin Republic and Lesotho in March.
