Super Eagles Star Reportedly Sanctioned For Celebrating Birthday

By Olamide Oyetunji - It is not the best of time for Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen as Italian club Napoli has reportedly punished him for exposing himself to Covid-19.

According to the latest report emanating from Italy, Victor Osimhen has reportedly been fined half of his monthly wages of around 250,000 Euros for putting his health at risk.

The 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup winner was spotted in a viral video where he did not did not comply with Napoli's off the pitch rules and regulations.

Victor Osimhen was seen in his birthday video which made the club management to blame him for reckless and unhealthy attitude.

The video served as an evidence to the club as it was assumed that he could have contracted coronavirus in Lagos, Nigeria.

It must be recalled that Osimhen celebrated his birthday in style in Lagos recently without wearing a face mask or observing social distancing with a guest artist also invited.

The club and the coaching staff led by Genarro Gattuso are not pleased with what they witnessed on the video and his return to the pitch will be further delayed.

The 22-year-old has been on vacation for close to two months after he suffered a dislocated shoulder in the epic Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Sierra Leone which ended 4-4.
