Nigerian Messi Bags Brace For Zlatan Ibrahimovic in Sweden

By Olamide Oyetunji - Former Golden Eaglets playmaker Akinkunmi Amoo put up a man of the match performance for Swedish club Hammarby in the Swedish Cup on Thursday.

Akin Amoo earned his first start as a Hammarby player in their tie with FC Gute and it was a memorable experience for him as they won 5-0.

Amoo Akinwunmi popular called 'Nigerian Messi' scored in the 32nd and 71st minutes for his Swedish top tier club which is Co-Owned by the legendary Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

His efforts was rewarded with the man of the match award and if he keeps the tempo, he will be competing for a shirt in the Super Eagles in future.

Akinkunmi’s career had attracted Premier League club Arsenal, which was locked in a chase for the Golden Eaglets star, according to media reports.

Akinkunmi is one of the Golden Eaglets trio of the 2019 FIFA U-17 World Cup who has attracted the attention of European football clubs. The two others are, skipper Samson Tijani and Olatomi Alfred Olaniyan.

Although the former Sidon FC and shooting stars NPFL U15 promise discovery has represented Nigeria at the U-17 level, many still see him as a future prospect for the Super Eagles.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic's co-owned club Hammarby IF earlier in the year signed a four-year contract with Nigeria talented U-17 national team star Akinkunmi Ayobami Amoo from Sidos FC for an undisclosed fee.
