Flying Eagles Thrash Nasarawa United in Friendly

By Olamide Oyetunji - The Nigerian U-20 male team also known as Flying Eagles are making a championship statement ahead of the West African Football Union U-20 competition.

In their campsite located at the FIFA Goal Project pitch in Abuja, the Flying Eagles on Thursday evening defeated Nigeria Professional Football League side Nasarawa United 4-2 in a friendly game.

Chris Nweze was on fire as he scored a brace with one of them coming from the penalty spot while Brazil 2019 FIFA U-17 World Cup star Wisdom Ubani and Azeez Oseni were the other scorers.

Coach Ladan Bosso is building a strong team with a limited time frame before the tournament that was initially scheduled for Togo as Nigeria will play in a very tough group.

With Ivory Coast and Ghana starring Nigeria in the eyes, it was great to see the boys flex their muscles against the nearest or closest Nigeria Professional Football League side to the Abuja camp.

Nasarawa United despite conducting coronavirus test on Wednesday also used the game to measure the Solid Miners ahead of their 2020/2021 NPFL matchday one fixture with Wikki Tourists in Mafia.
